B.A.T.D. Student Dance Examinations will be held at the studio on Friday, March 31 and Saturday, April 1, 2006.

Dear Parents and Students:
Below is the confirmed examination schedule. The examiner’s name is Mrs. Graham. Please note that she is on a very tight schedule, therefore we will not wait for students that are late.
Students must arrive 15 to 20 minutes before their scheduled exam time, ready to dance. For students in Bronze/Grade 1 and up 30 minutes prior is recommended, to allow for sufficient warm up and stretching.
Parents, please ensure your child is properly groomed before arriving at the studio. Please see your exam acceptance letter for details on proper exam dress code. EVERYONE is asked to enter the facility VERY QUIETLY, as exams will be progress. Upon arrival at the studio, parents must check their child in with the staff member in the waiting area. The staff member will check your child’s exam attire and grooming, if any changes are needed it will be your responsibility to correct the problem before you leave the waiting area. Staff members will only issue students a number and exam paper once they are properly groomed. Students must sit quietly while waiting to enter the studio for their exam.
To cut down on noise and confusion I ask that ALL parents leave the waiting room as soon as your child has been issued a number and exam paper. Parents are invited to wait in Studio C. Please wait quietly as exams will be in progress.
Students who miss their scheduled exam/test time will not be able to take their exam.
EXAMINATION FEES ARE NON REFUNDABLE.
Medals and certificates take several months to arrive, as they are dispatched from Great Britain. Medals and certificates are shipped to the dance studio. Students will be notified of their exam mark the first class after their exam. The exam marks are as follows (highest to lowest)
Medal Tests: Highly Commended, Commended, Pass Plus, Pass
Grade Examinations: Honors, Highly Commended, Commended, Pass Plus, Pass.

Parents and Students, I can not stress this enough... PLEASE DO NOT compare or discuss your (child’s) marks at anytime, especially within the studio facility. We want ALL students feel great about what they have accomplished, by completing their exam level. Their mark reflects their performance on that particular day, in that time frame, with that examiner... Another day and/or different examiner may have a different outcome. Also, your child’s teacher is not permitted to observe the students while they take their exam. The teachers are required to sit with their backs to the students. We are only in the exam room to play the music when needed. Therefore, we do not have any insight as to how each student performed during their exam/test. Students will be notified of their mark in the first class after their exam/test. Once medals and certificates have arrived they will be sent home along with the exam/test paper, so students and parents can read the examiner’s comments.
Students, please take time to practice your routines and exercises every day. Remember it takes less then 10 minutes to practice each dance three times. All of you have worked very hard prepare for your exam... Break a leg (Good Luck)!
