1. Dampen hair with a spray bottle. Brush hair back from face, with
a fine tooth comb or bore hair brush for best results.
2. For students with bangs, insert a circular comb/headband at forehead,
slide towards crown, to catch all small wisps, etc. The comb will pull
bangs back , as you push it into place.
3. Brush hair into a ponytail secure with a hair elastic.
4. Twist hair around elastic. As you are twisting hair, secure with
bobby pins. Ensure that bobby pins are going through the center of the
elastic. There should be a minimum of 10 bobby pins used.
5. Shake head vigorously. If the bun moves or there are any wisps,
continue to secure with bobby pins until the bun is completely secure.
6. Place a hair net over the bun. Twist and pull hair net until there
are 3 to 4 layers of netting over the bun.
Students with chin length or shorter hair must secure hair
with clips and/or elastics for every class.
Hair nets, bobby pins, hair elastics, and circular zig zag combs/headbands
can be purchased at any drug or department store where hair accessories
are sold. It is recommended that students carry extra bun supplies
in their dance bag.
Bun kits may be purchased from your child’s instructor
for $2.00/kit.
